Since discovering the Washington Senators as a boy in 1971, I've followed this team throughout my life. When the Rangers made it to the World Series for the first time in 2010, it truly was a childhood dream come true.

As an Orioles fan, I LOVE seeing Evil Inc. put in its place. I also get a kick when ballclubs who’ve never won a World Series finally capture The Ultimate Prize. Congratulations! I WILL be rooting for Your Rangers in the Fall Classic. Claws & Antlers!
One of the great joys of my life was seeing Game 1 of the ALCS in 1873 at Memorial Stadium- Jim Palmer vs. Vida Blue. Palmer was magnificent in pitching the O’s to victory, but the A’s eventually won that series and the WS as well. Hope Showalter can do for the O’s what he couldn’t do for the Rangers. Thanks for the comment!
Congrats, Steve! The best season in Rangers history continues either in Philadelphia or San Francisco! You deserve that “1!”

Thanks a lot Randy. Glad we could vanquish the Yankees for you! Good luck with the Twins in ’11!
Steve. I’m a little late in offering my congratulations. Thank you to the Rangers for taking out the Yankees. For Pirates fans we have to steal victories where we can find them–you know because victories are certainly not coming from our team. So like the 1972 Dolphins who celebrate every year when the last undefeated team in the NFL loses, we Pirates fans mark the baseball calender as each large market team that is ruining the game is eliminated. Boston out, check. New York out. Check. Atlanta out. Check. Now on to more important matters:
When I started writing my blog earlier this year, “Diary of a Long Suffering Pirates Fan,” one of my friends asked me what would become of the blog if the Pirates actually had a winning season? Of course the answer was that, “I don’t think I’ll have to worry about that for a while.”
And while I see you have changed the name of your blog, it’s idenity has been altered forever. Now that you have reached the promised land of the World Series, what do you do with the Blog and your tag line.
Enjoy the ride.
